1. Smokvica

You know that feeling when you walk around all day in a strange city? Sometimes you just crave a short brake. Tucked away in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city, Smokvica is a perfect place where you can refresh and have a quick bite from their diverse menu. Or as they state nicely on their website: “The fusion of different nationalities of the owners is carried into its menu…”
If you take a stroll through the main pedestrian street Knez Mihailova, stop for a break at Smokvica and choose whether to sit inside or in the garden.

2. Café Bar Cliché

The term "local bar" was created because of places like this. When you walk into a place dominated by natural materials and art details, you will instantly feel at home.If you arrive in the morning, you will have the opportunity to peacefully enjoy freshly squeezed juice, which they are rightly proud of. 

If you decide to stop by in the afternoon, you can talk over coffee or beer with the locals always ready for a cheerful conversation. They even have a bar seating outside so feel free to visit. You will hardly resist charming staff.

3. KGB Caffe


Dim light and vinyl are some of the characteristics of this city pub.For coffee lovers this is a haven during the day where you can try golden espresso, as they call it. At night, this place turns into a bar crowded with young people who are ready to hit the dance floor. Often, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a drink while the DJ plays music.

If you prefer to try something atypical in bars, they serve homemade tomato juice. For those who want to get out in the fresh air there is seating outdoors.

4. Leila Records and Books

Feel like trying something different? Leila is peaceful, cozy, warm and inspiring place. It is a conceptual record, book and art store where at the same time you can enjoy coffee or have a glass of good wine while watching a movie. Their program is very diverse, so if you plan to visit Leila do not be surprised if you find yourself in the middle of a jewelry or cat exhibition.

There might be one or two tables outside, but once you go inside this lovely place you will not wish to go out!

5. Tezga Bar 

This place is always swarming with people and you can hear that extra seat is wanted whether inside or outside! And with a good reason. Food is great, people are great and energy is great. Good for lunch with friends or a warm up before party or even meeting new people. If you stick around longer, you will definitely meet locals who like to chat and have fun. 
If you are up for dessert, don’t miss a chance to try their Indian Halva that is something very unique in the city.

6. Bajloni

If you get kicked out from other bars don’t worry because this place works until 04:00 AM. Located on the site of the former brewery, Bajloni represents a jazz tavern. You can listen to live jazz music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday and choose something from wide selection of wines and other drinks. You can choose a snack as well.
It opened last winter so this is first time they are opening their garden for guests. Don’t feel like listening to the music? Drop by during the day for a coffee - it is as equally lovely as in the evening.
